Appointment of Members of the Expediency Discernment Council

In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Mr. Hashemi Rafsanjani, Honorable President of the Islamic Republic (may his successes continue)

With greetings and regards, in accordance with Article 112 of the Constitution and considering the expiration of the term of appointment of the esteemed members of the Expediency Discernment Council, I appoint the following individuals as members of this council for a period of three years:

The esteemed jurists of the Guardian Council, the honorable heads of the three branches of government

The relevant minister and the head of the relevant commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly in each of the subjects under discussion.

Ayatollahs and Hujjat al-Islams: Mr. Mahdavi Kani, Mr. Haj Sheikh Hassan Sane'i, Mr. Haj Seyyed Ahmad Khomeini, Mr. Haj Seyyed Mohammad Mousavi Khoeiniha, Mr. Haj Sheikh Mohammad Ali Movahedi Kermani, Mr. Haj Sheikh Mohammad Reza Tavassoli, Mr. Haj Sheikh Abdullah Nouri, Mr. Haj Sheikh Hassan Rouhani, and Mr. Dr. Hassan Habibi and Mr. Mir Hossein Mousavi.

It is expected that you, by forming and managing the aforementioned council, will employ this important legal institution to realize the interests of the country and fulfill the objectives mentioned in the Constitution for it.
