Statements at the Meeting with the Commanders of Basij Battalions on the Eve of Basij Day; at the Hosseiniyeh of Imam Khomeini (may his soul be sanctified)
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Thanks be to God, the Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our master Muhammad and his pure family, especially the Awaited Savior on earth, and may God's curse be upon all their enemies.
You have honored us greatly, dear brothers and sisters, and you have perfumed this Hosseiniyeh with your warm breaths and loving hearts, especially with the statements of our esteemed commanders - Mr. Jafari and Mr. Naqdi - with the fragrance of Basij. The fragrance of Basij must be understood, must be inhaled, and the truth of this strange and blessed phenomenon must be properly comprehended. We congratulate you all on the anniversary of the formation of Basij and hope, God willing, that each one of you, brothers and sisters, as well as those under your command, will be among those who please the Awaited Savior (may our souls be sacrificed for him), that He will be satisfied with you, pray for you, and God willing, in this world and the Hereafter, you will be gathered with these sacred lights in your hearts, with your bodies, and with your souls.
We would like to present a few points using this opportunity. One point is that the phenomenon of Basij is an innovative phenomenon; not in the sense that there were no popular resistance forces in other countries and places; we know that. However, the resistance forces in various countries around the world - in the West, East, and so on - are usually related to periods of oppression, periods of pressure, and periods of struggle; after the struggles are over, either these resistance groups come to power themselves or others come to power with their help, and this resistance force disappears, and this popular organization comes to an end; this is how it is in the world; those who are familiar with popular resistances in Africa, Europe, Asia, and various countries know this. During the period of French domination over Algeria, for instance, popular resistance groups were formed, they fought for years - perhaps around eight to ten years, they had fierce battles - they endured many hardships, but after the revolutionary government was formed, there was no news of these groups anymore; some came to power, some formed parties, but nothing remained of the resistance groups. Or, for example, in France during the German occupation, there were resistance groups - left, right, center - they fought hard, but after the occupation was lifted and the government was formed, there was no news of the groups anymore; it was over, they disappeared. We mentioned that either they came to power - and those who came to power fell victim to the pitfalls of power; I have seen this firsthand in some countries; those who had fought for years in hard trenches, on the ground, to reach power, later behaved in their rule just as the Portuguese commander who had ruled this country before them behaved; their behavior was no different; the goal of the struggle was to reach power; I have observed this in multiple cases - and this is how it happened, and they essentially transformed their essence; or others came to power, and they formed parties; like some of the parties that exist in these countries, which in fact their struggle was a struggle to reach power. Today, Western parties and consequently parties around the world aim to reach power; that is, a party struggles to take control of the government; then another party struggles to take the government from them. In other words, today, parties - what is called a party in the world - are essentially a platform for addressing the lofty concepts and teachings that the party believes in, unlike what we had in mind about parties at the beginning of the revolution; today in the world, this is not the case; the goal is to have a group - like a club or a collection - that tries to reach power; then when they reach power, it is the same soup and the same bowl of the previous government; there is no difference. Therefore, resistance groups would dissolve with victories, they would fade away, and they would come to an end. The fact that resistance groups remain like a continuous current, like a flowing river, during the period of victory and become more and more vibrant day by day, that their awareness increases, that they participate in various fields that the country needs in an organized manner, that they develop in terms of quantity and quality, that they achieve new concepts, that they can play a role in newly emerging battles, as our Basij does, this is unprecedented in the world; such a thing has no precedent in the world.
This was also the art of Imam; Imam (may God’s peace be upon him) formed Basij from the very fabric of the people. Basij is not separate from the people; Basij consists of the very individuals present in various segments of the population - in universities, in farms, in markets, in various responsible and non-responsible institutions - but they are Basijis, they are part of the Basij community. Basij is essentially a special selection from among the masses of the nation; it is a representative of the entire nation; this is Basij. This was established by Imam (may God’s peace be upon him) and has developed day by day; from them, strange, magnificent, and remarkable things have emerged. Many of our military commanders - who either became martyrs or are alive, thanks be to God, from whom you hear or read astonishing things in writings - they are Basijis; they first entered as Basijis, they were not obligated; they entered the field of sacred defense as Basijis, and their talents emerged and they transformed into great commanders like Martyr Baqeri, Martyr Kazemi, Martyr Boroujerdi, and others and others and others; this is in the field of war. In the field of science, it is the same; many of those who have accomplished great works in science and technology either have a history of being Basijis or consider themselves Basijis now; even if their names are not listed in the Basij organization, they consider themselves Basijis; these nuclear martyrs - Rezaei Nejad, Ahmadinejad, Shahriari, Ali Mohammadi, and others, others - those who played extraordinary roles in nuclear technical matters that we have seen up close, they are all essentially elements of Basij. Basij has a specific definition: the masses of the people, who with a lofty divine goal and with an indomitable spirit, appear in the field, wherever necessary, display their talents, put everything they have on the scene, and do not fear the dangers of this path; that is, they hold their lives in their hands. Well, this statement is easy to say that 'someone holds their life in their hands,' but in practice, it is not that easy. A Basiji is someone who is prepared for this difficult task - that is, to sacrifice their life, even to sacrifice those things that are sometimes dearer than life; this is the meaning of Basij. This is one of the special characteristics of our country, it is specific to the Islamic Revolution, and it relates to the Islamic Republic.
Well, one characteristic of Basij is the breadth of presence, which must be preserved; in the military field, in the scientific field, in the artistic field - well, Martyr Avini is a Basiji; suppose a committed artist, whether in the realm of visual arts, poetry, literature, and so on, is a Basiji - whether in technology, or recently in economic matters, which I have also advised the government officials and said that Basij is willing to participate in resistant economy and play a role. Of course, the dear brothers, the commanders of Basij and the IRGC must be very careful that economic activity is from slippery places; 'When the mud becomes abundant, elephants slip,' they must be cautious. I will refer to this later; one of the traps of the enemy is precisely these financial and economic matters and similar issues that must be watched very carefully. Because a person is always under trial, know this; and you know, it is clear in Islamic teachings. That is, when a person becomes like Bal'am Ba'ura - someone whose prayers are never rejected and whatever they pray for is granted - and even reaches this point, there is still a place for slipping; there is a line that you are climbing; at all moments and steps of this line that you are climbing, there is a precipice beneath your feet; at all moments; the higher you go, the more severe and dangerous the precipice will become; you must be careful that I will also mention that caution. Well, then, the breadth of presence - in all the fields we mentioned and did not mention that are suitable for the presence of Basijis - is one of the characteristics.
The presence of Basij means the presence of the people; when Basij is present somewhere, it means that the Iranian nation is present - just as we mentioned - Basij is a sample and a symbol of the Iranian nation, a sample and a sign of the entire Iranian nation. Well, this presence is of course known to be for the defense of ideals, for the defense of values, for the defense of revolutionary identity and the defense of national identity, to help this nation and this country reach the points that it deserves and which have been outlined by the blessing of the revolution and it is moving towards; the presence of Basij is certainly meant to defend.
Well, when we say it must defend, a question comes to mind: is there an attack that it must defend against? Is there an enemy that must be defended against? This question arises. You all know the answer to this question clearly; yes, there is an enemy; a treacherous enemy, cunning, armed, deceitful, devilish exists against this great movement; who is this enemy? Global arrogance.
Of course, the manifestation of global arrogance today is America; once it was England. This enemy is not idle, it is busy; it is constantly busy. This analysis that was at the beginning of the speech of our dear commander Jafari was completely correct. Today, the global conflict is between the arrogant movement and the value-driven movement and national independence and identity, which is manifested in the Islamic Revolution or the Islamic Republic; the main dispute in the world today is this; not that there are no other disputes; yes, after all, dogs fight over a carcass too, they quarrel over it, this exists, but the main dispute is this, the main line and the main front is this; therefore, the enemy exists, the enemy is sensitive.
This global arrogance, we mentioned, today its manifestation is America; but this political apparatus of global arrogance is not just a political apparatus; the financial apparatus is sometimes more important and effective; like these large companies and wealthy individuals in the world who are mostly Zionists; the entirety of global arrogance consists of these; they are constantly busy. In fact, both wealth and power, wealth and power; now they say the triangle of wealth, power, and deceit, which is indeed a correct triangle. In the past, when we used to say wealth, power, and deceit, our meaning of deceit was religious deceit. That is, elements that come under the guise of religion and pave the way; they clear the path for the entry of the army of wealth and power. But today, our meaning of deceit is not just religious deceit, it is also political deceit; that is, political apparatuses, diplomatic apparatuses, are intensely engaged in deceit, scheming, plotting, and planning; they appear with a smiling face, come forward with open arms, and at the same time, as you may have seen in some films, while hugging someone, they stab them in the heart. Therefore, today deceit includes political and diplomatic deceit and similar matters that must be paid attention to. Well, this is enmity, this enmity can manifest in various forms. We must pay attention to these; that is, we must constantly repeat these to ourselves, practice them, not forget them so that we understand what we must do; all of us - both the politicians of the country, the managers of the country, you dear Basijis, and others who are active, thinkers, and workers - must always keep these in mind.
One type of enmity is hard enmity; they drop a bomb, shoot an arrow, send a terrorist. One type of enmity is soft enmity, which I have raised the issue of infiltration for some time now; infiltration is a very important issue. When we talk about infiltration, some react; they say, 'Sir! The issue of infiltration has become factionalized, they have used it factionally'; I do not care about these statements. Well, let them not use it factionally, let them not engage in futile discussions about infiltration, let them not mention the name of infiltration without the necessary content; we do not care about these, but whatever is said, whatever serious work is done, we must not neglect the real issue of infiltration; do not forget that the enemy is seeking infiltration. Now I will explain infiltration a bit, what infiltration is and how it is; do not neglect the essence of the matter. Factions should not accuse each other; one says, 'Sir, you said your intention was this,' the other says, 'No, you said your intention was this'; very well, whatever the intention was. After all, the reality must not be forgotten; the enemy is planning for infiltration.
Infiltration is of two types: one is situational infiltration, individual infiltration; one is movement infiltration. Situational infiltration has many examples; it means that suppose you have a device, you are a responsible person; someone is sent into your organization with a made-up, decorated face, with a mask; you think they are a friend while they are not, so they can carry out their work; sometimes it is espionage, which is the least of it; that is, the least significant is espionage, information gathering, and reporting; sometimes their work is beyond espionage, they change your decision. You are a manager, you are a responsible person, you are a decision-maker, you can make a significant or effective move, if this move is done this way, it is in favor of the enemy, they come and do something that makes you carry out the move this way; that is, decision-making. This has a history in all apparatuses; it is not only in political apparatuses, but also in religious and spiritual apparatuses and similar ones have always existed. The late Mr. Sayyid Hassan Tehami, who was one of the great scholars of our country and lived in Birjand, had gone to Birjand and stayed there; he was a very great cleric, if he had stayed in Qom or Najaf, he would have certainly become a source of emulation; he was a very knowledgeable man. He himself narrated to me; he said that when the Iraqis were fighting the English - in 1918; nearly a hundred years ago - one of the religious authorities at the time had a servant who was a very good man, he was friendly with the students, talked to them, was familiar with everyone, was friends with everyone; he also mentioned his name; I do not remember. He said that after the English gained dominance and occupied Iraq, the last place they entered was Najaf, news reached the students that this servant of such-and-such a cleric was an English officer! He said I did not believe it; I said how can this be? Then he said I was going to the famous market in Najaf - a well-known market - and I saw seven or eight English officers and soldiers riding horses - at that time they traveled on horseback - and one officer was in front of them; well, I stood aside for them to pass; when they reached me, I saw that the officer in front said: 'Mr. Sayyid Hassan, how are you!' I looked and saw yes, it was that same man who was the servant of such-and-such a cleric; we had seen him for years. Sometimes infiltration is like this; it is personal infiltration; they enter someone's house, they enter someone's apparatus. In political apparatuses, there are countless examples of this; today it may also exist; of course, it is dangerous.
However, more dangerous than this is movement infiltration. Movement infiltration means networking within the nation; through money, the role of money and economic matters becomes clear here. The two main tools are: one is money, the other is sexual attractions. They attract individuals, gather them together; they present a fake and false goal and draw influential individuals, those who can have an impact in society, towards their desired direction. What is that desired direction? It is changing beliefs, changing ideals, changing perspectives, changing lifestyles; they make it so that the person who has been infiltrated, who has been influenced by the infiltration, thinks the same way that an American thinks; that is, they make it so that you look at the issue the same way that an American looks at it - of course, a politician American does not care about the American people - they make you perceive the same way that a high-ranking CIA officer perceives; as a result, you want the same thing that they want. Therefore, their mind is at ease; without needing to put themselves in danger and enter the arena, you are working for them; this is the goal, this is the goal of infiltration; movement infiltration, network infiltration, widespread infiltration; not situational. If this infiltration occurs regarding individuals who have an impact on the fate of the country, the politics of the country, the future of the country, you see what happens? Ideals will change, values will change, desires will change, beliefs will change.
Today, when you look, you believe that there is a clear injustice being done to a nation regarding Palestine; you see this; your perspective is this perspective. The one who is in their home - a Palestinian Arab, whether Muslim or Christian - is being violated, they are condemned with an American perspective. In your view, they are oppressed; when they manage to change your perspective, you too look at it like them and say that Israel is defending its identity! Did not Obama say? When they were raining fire on the defenseless people of Gaza day and night, attacking their homes, their lives, their farms, their children, their schools, their hospitals, the President of America said Israel is defending itself! That is the perspective. Networking and movement-making causes the person who is living inside Iran or in some other country to adopt that perspective; this is the meaning of infiltration; see how dangerous it is.
And who are the targets of infiltration? Mainly elites, mainly influential individuals, mainly decision-makers or decision-makers, these are the targets of infiltration; therefore, infiltration is a danger; infiltration is a great danger. That now someone says that Mr. Zaid wants to use the term infiltration for factional purposes, this does not diminish its importance. Now whether they do it or not, they are wrong to use it factionally; the reality of the matter is this; we cannot disregard this reality.
Complementing this infiltration are peripheral actions; one of the things that complements this infiltration is the discrediting of those who insist on authenticity, on the correct perspective, on values; this complements infiltration. I do not want to say that those who discredit Basij, accuse it of extremism and harshness and so on, are consciously cooperating with infiltrators; I do not make this claim, I do not know, but the reality is that this is assistance. Those who in various sectors, with various languages, accuse Basij of extremism, of radicalism, and so on, are in fact completing the infiltration; the infiltration project is being completed by these; because Basij is one of those strong fortifications; Basij is a strong fortification; this fortification must not be weakened.
I advise, I counsel all those who have a position to speak and can speak, not to try to undermine the authenticity of the country, the fundamental foundations of the revolution; whenever someone speaks of authenticity, do not immediately say they are being extreme or radical or what they are doing is factional; no, it is not like that. Do not discredit authenticity, do not accuse of extremism; do not deny the clear signs of the revolution; there are clear signs in the revolution; there are firm foundations in the revolution. Well, these twenty-some volumes of the statements of Imam are there; Imam was the embodiment of the revolution, Imam was the spokesperson of the revolution, he was the expounder of the truths of the revolution. Well, they should look and see what Imam emphasized. Do not deny the clear signs of the revolution; this is what is important.
I consider Basij to be very important; I see Basij as a very important, impactful, blessed phenomenon, and certainly one with a future; I believe that these efforts being made, the works being done, the demolitions taking place will not weaken Basij; Basij, God willing, will become more deeply rooted day by day. Basij was once a thin and delicate sapling; today it is a sturdy tree and will become even more so, better than this, by God's grace, but be careful that this sturdy tree does not fall victim to pests. Here, my address is to you; be careful. Sometimes they come with a saw to a tree, well, it is possible to stop the saw; sometimes a pest enters the tree, this remedy is harder.
One of the pests in Basij is arrogance. Now that we are Basijis - as the chosen ones, as the cream of the crop, we have definitions, we have praised so much - to look at others with contempt; this is a pest; this is a pest. The greater you become, the higher you rise, the more humility you should have; your humility before God Almighty should increase. You see, I and you also seek forgiveness and sometimes say: 'I seek forgiveness from God, my Lord, and I turn to Him'; look at our seeking forgiveness, also look at the seeking forgiveness of Imam Sajjad (may peace be upon him). We also recite prayers; look at our supplication, our supplication in our prayers, how it is, look at the supplication of Amir al-Mu'minin in that supplication or the supplication of Imam Hussein in the Day of Arafah or the supplication of Imam Sajjad in Sahifa Sajjadiyya; he is where, we are where; but he is a thousand times more serious in his supplication; he is more serious in seeking forgiveness. Amir al-Mu'minin, with that greatness, with that status, with that servitude, with that piety, mentions the fear of God's punishment in Dua Kumayl! The higher you rise, see yourself smaller before God and before the creation of God; in the supplication of Makarim al-Akhlaq, we have been taught that the higher we rise in the eyes of people, we should lower ourselves in our own eyes; the higher our status in front of people, the lower we should go in our own self. We must pay attention to our responsibilities, pay attention to our shortcomings, pay attention to our weaknesses, to our deficiencies; we all have shortcomings, I speak for myself. Well, you young people are better than us, but we all have shortcomings; we must pay more attention to our shortcomings. So, arrogance is one of the pests. Be careful, because I am a Basiji, I am a devotee, I am ready to give my life, do not let arrogance take you.
The second pest is negligence. One of the things that follows from arrogance is this negligence. When a person becomes very arrogant about their power, their abilities, their values, they become complacent and fall into negligence. Do not be negligent, do not fall into negligence. Always keep your eyes open, your vision clear, your gaze precise.
Another pest - which I will stop here - is entering the race for the glitter of life; it is a race: running after the glitter of life, seeking more luxurious possessions, seeking a better life, seeking more income. Running is a race, the people of the world are in this race; now some are smarter in this race, they go ahead and accumulate billions, some are not that smart. But the people of the world are in the race, those who are worldly. Do not enter this race. Do not say that so-and-so has this, so-and-so has achieved this, I am empty-handed, I must have it too; no, this is not only a pest of Basij, but a pest of every believer. Many we have seen were good people, interested people, when they fell into the world and the glitter and such things, slowly, slowly, their sharpness dulled, their abilities diminished, their motivations weakened. When motivation weakens, willpower also weakens. When willpower weakens, it shows itself in action. They have gone. These are the pests.
Today, what are the priorities of Basij? First and foremost, piety and purity; piety and purity. All those who are people of meaning - the greats of the people of meaning - that we sometimes reach some of them, their advice was this: do not sin. Some say, 'Sir, what supplication should we recite that is very good and will elevate us to high ranks?' They said, 'Sir, supplication aside! Do not sin.' This is the first step, and if this step is secured, many of your problems - spiritual problems, moral problems, and material problems - will be resolved. We are all exposed to sin, we are all exposed to slipping; I mentioned. Be careful. If you have this caution - this caution from oneself, which is called self-caution. Caution, which is repeated so much in the Quran, means this very self-caution that you do not sin, that you do not act against the law - God Almighty will help you, He will keep you firm. This very caution brings about divine mercy, brings blessings to life. The life of a person, the age of a person, the moments of a person, the hours of a person gain blessings through piety. This is my first recommendation.
My second recommendation is insight, insight. I have often mentioned this saying of Amir al-Mu'minin (may peace be upon him) in speeches: 'Only those who have insight and patience can carry this flag.' First, those who have insight, those who have correct vision, those who understand the scene. Insight must be increased day by day, we must recognize the internal scene, know what is happening inside, where one can sometimes feel the presence of the enemy, where one can move forward with a calm heart and a peaceful mind. Insight; recognize our place in the world; where are we today?
Some are trying to belittle the self, belittle the nation; they say, 'Sir, we are nothing!' This is expressed in various languages, they extensively praise a certain country or the people of a certain country or the behaviors of a certain country, which is often contrary to reality, often like these cinematic films. In cinematic films, when the police come, they want to arrest someone, they always say at the beginning: 'Be careful; anything you say can be used against you in court'; that is, this police is so noble that they advise the accused - a person who may be a criminal - at the very beginning to be careful that too much comes out of their mouth so that it can be used against them in court; is this the police of the West? Is this the police of the Americans? This is Hollywood films. The American police, when they handcuff someone, after they handcuff them, they beat them; they shoot and kill someone just because they have a toy gun in their pocket. Is this the police? The cinematic film decorates it with lies; the court, the police, the government apparatus, what, what, what; well, it is a cinematic film. Some of their articles, their writings, their speeches are like these Hollywood films; they try to make others appear as what they are not, they beautify them; in reality, they create a sense of inferiority in our nation; no, it is not like that; our nation is a great nation, it has emerged successfully and honorably from great trials, it has done great works; our nation is the same nation that when it captured prisoners in war, it did not beat them, it did not kill them, it treated them; it gave them water from its own canteen; our nation is like this. A few bad people accused of espionage - who their espionage was possible - are captured from the sea, brought here, then returned home in new clothes. Our nation is like this. In its dealings, in its kindness, in its fairness, then in its courage. Our nation is the nation that freed itself from centuries of humiliation, was able to speak with dignity; we have such a nation; it is not a joke. Various countries; the countries that are the powerful of the world gather to decide what to do with Islamic Iran; well, this is the power of this nation; material power, military power, political power, logical power, moral power; not that we have no weaknesses, we have many weaknesses, but our abilities, our values, our brightness are not few; why do they belittle the nation? Some have become accustomed to constantly belittling; the country, the nation, the officials. Insight is to know, to understand these truths, to recognize your place, your country's place, your nation's place, the place of the logic of the revolution, the place of that straight line and the straight path that Imam outlined in the country; to know the place of these; this is insight.
Preparedness, readiness, being on standby; this is also one of the necessary conditions and recommendations that we must make to our Basij brothers and sisters; one must be prepared. Thank you very much, thank you very much. We know that you are prepared; very good, that is enough. You also relieved your fatigue, you had been quiet for a while, you shouted a little, your fatigue was relieved; now pay attention:
Today, this conflict that exists is a real conflict. The opposing sides are also those who are very far from human values, very far. Therefore, events are happening around us that we cannot be indifferent to. First, the issue of Palestine, the Palestinian issue. The Palestinian issue is not a small issue. Well, nearly sixty years or sixty-some years have passed since the occupation of Palestinian land; these people - the Palestinians - have changed several generations, but the ideal of Palestine remains; the enemy's effort is to eliminate the ideal of Palestine; the ideal of Palestine remains. Unfortunately, the Arab governments are so busy with other matters that they do not have the opportunity or do not want to - the constraints do not allow or various other considerations; alliances with America and others - to address the Palestinian issue; the Palestinian issue is a very important issue, we cannot abandon the Palestinian issue. Today, the intifada of the Palestinian people has begun in the West Bank, the people are fighting; the judgment of the arrogant horns is a completely unjust judgment. The one whose house has been occupied and has no personal and financial security in their own home - they come and demolish the house with bulldozers, they build settlements, they destroy their farms - when they attack with stones, they say this is a terrorist! But the apparatus that is destroying this person's life, security, dignity, wealth, and world is said to be oppressed, defending itself! Well, this is very strange, this is one of the wonders of our world today. One has come and usurped a house and has continuously oppressed the owner, and they say do not defend yourself, they are defending themselves; the oppressed owner who has lost their security, lost their home, whose wife, child, dignity, and everything is threatened, if they return a curse to them or throw a stone at them, they are called a terrorist! Is this a small matter? Is this a small mistake? Is this a small error that can be overlooked; this cannot be overlooked. We will defend the movement of the Palestinian people with all our being, as long as we can and in whatever way we can.
Other issues that are around us are the same; most of the issues that are happening today are issues where a fair and just human judgment is one thing, and the malicious, wicked judgment of the Westerners and their politicians and their propaganda apparatuses is another. For example, the issue of Bahrain; for example, the issue of Yemen; for example, the issue of Syria.
In the issue of Bahrain, what do the people of Bahrain want? The people of Bahrain say, 'Sir, give each individual of this nation one vote to elect the government, to elect the regime; each person one vote.' Well, do you not say 'democracy'? Do you not say we are the embodiment of democracy; we want to defend democracy? Very well, is democracy clearer than this? Not only are they not given this, but they are pressured, insulted, and humiliated; the majority of a nation - they are the majority; those who say this; seventy to eighty percent - the minority of oppressors has power, they do whatever they want with them; they even disrespect their sanctities. In this Muharram, they attacked someone who was giving a sermon, someone who was mourning, someone who was raising the flag of mourning, someone who was reciting elegies, they attacked someone who cursed Yazid - glory be to God - and said why do you curse Yazid! Well, in their honor, this is enough that they are Yazidis, they defend Yazid; we have no one more dishonorable than that wicked Yazid in the history of Islam, should he not be cursed? May God's curse be upon those who harm the Prophet, the descendants of the Prophet, and the family of the Prophet. This is their behavior; this is Bahrain.
Yemen; for months now, they have been bombing the people of Yemen like this. Houses, homes, hospitals, schools; they are continuously dropping bombs. A people who have no guilt, a people who have no sin, they are being bombed; and then the so-called advocates of democracy and human rights and so on, are constantly defending and supporting them! This is the world; this is the oppressive world; this is the world you stand against, the global arrogance that you shout against, this is it.
In the case of Syria, it is the same; now regarding the case of Syria, we have spoken in recent days; we have said and it has been broadcast in the media; they are defending the most wicked and despicable terrorists, they are helping them; both in Syria and in Iraq. Whether directly or indirectly. They insist that the formation of the Syrian government must be this way, not that way. Well, by what right? Every nation must choose its own destiny, its own government, its own state; what business do you have? You come from the other side of the world for the sake of wicked and malicious purposes; this is the world of global arrogance. In the face of this world, a person with insight understands what to do, understands what their rightful position is.
Basij can convey to others that the political positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran - which today our official and political positions of our officials regarding Syria, Iraq, Bahrain, Yemen, Palestine, are clear and explicit positions - are the most logical positions that a fair and rational person can adopt.
Basij is a blessing for the Islamic Republic system, a treasure, an endless treasure; because the nation is endless; it is a treasure. And I tell you, with God's grace, the dear nation of Iran will first preserve this valuable treasure, secondly extract it, and thirdly, with the help of these efforts and these wills and these insights, will certainly reach the heights of elevation and progress that it seeks. And the enemies will have to watch and observe and see the progress of the Iranian nation; and they will not be able to do anything. And God willing, it will be so. May God's mercy be upon the great Imam who opened this path for us. May God's mercy be upon the dear martyrs who taught us practical lessons with their sacrifices and showed us how we should act. And may God's mercy be upon you dear ones who, thanks be to God, with your preparedness today bring joy to the hearts of the nation and give them hope.
Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings.
