In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

These days belong to the Lady of the Women of the Worlds and the great lady of world history, Fatimah Zahra (peace be upon her); that exemplary woman whose life, despite its brevity and her youthful age, serves as a model for all brave and faithful men and women, Muslims, and even non-Muslims who are familiar with her esteemed status. We must learn from the life of this great lady. First, I find it necessary to express my condolences on this significant and sorrowful commemoration to all of you, brothers and sisters, and to thank you for your presence and the efforts you have made to come from various parts of the country and gather here.

In the life of Zahra the Pure (peace be upon her), there is a point that must be noted. Of course, we do not delve into the spiritual ranks of this great lady, nor are we able to comprehend and understand the spiritual ranks of Fatimah the Pure (peace be upon her). Truly, at the peak of human spirituality and human perfection, only God knows such servants and those who are their equals and sees their rank. Thus, Fatimah Zahra was known by the Commander of the Faithful, her noble father, and her infallible offspring. The people of that time and subsequent times, and we in this era, cannot discern the brilliance and radiance of spirituality in this great lady. The shining spiritual light is not visible to everyone, and our nearsighted and weak eyes cannot see the radiant manifestation of humanity in these great figures.

Therefore, we do not enter the realm of defining the spirituality of Fatimah Zahra (peace be upon her); however, in the ordinary life of this great lady, there is an important point, which is the combination of the life of a Muslim woman in her behavior with her husband and children and fulfilling her duties at home on one hand, and the duties of a tireless, brave Mojahed in her encounter with significant political events after the demise of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family), when she comes to the mosque, delivers speeches, takes positions, defends, speaks, and is a true and tireless warrior, enduring hardships on the other hand. Additionally, from a third perspective, she is a worshiper, an establisher of prayer in the dark nights, a riser for God, humble and submissive to the Lord, and in the niche of worship, this young woman communes with God like the ancient divine saints.

Combining these three dimensions is the shining point of Fatimah Zahra's (peace be upon her) life. She did not separate these three aspects. Some imagine that a person engaged in worship is a devotee, supplicant, and person of prayer and remembrance and cannot be a political person. Or some imagine that someone who is political—whether woman or man—and actively participates in the field of jihad in the way of God, if a woman, cannot be a housewife with the duties of motherhood and wifehood, and if a man, cannot be a man of home and shop and life. They think these are incompatible; however, from the Islamic perspective, these three things are not incompatible or contradictory; in the character of a complete human being, they are supportive.

You must fulfill your personal duties in your work and life environment, with your spouse, children, neighbors, and friends, and establish normal social connections in a healthy manner. At the same time, you must be present in the field of politics and the scene of revolution and the tasks that the social system demands from you, in elections, in the field of war, in presenting your revolutionary and national demands at the national and global level, and in expressing your political will in the fields of politics and revolution.

You must maintain your presence in marches, construction, the battlefield, elections, and expressing your political opinion—where expressing an opinion is obligatory—and be effective in determining the fate of the country and the revolution. At the same time, improve your spiritual and heartfelt relationship with God through worship, attention, remembrance, presence, spirituality, seeking help from God, reliance on Him, and performing good supererogatory and obligatory acts. These three dimensions build a Muslim person. Islam demands this from us, and if asked: how is it possible? We answer that we have models, including Fatimah Zahra (peace be upon her).

Today's humanity, within the framework of the material civilizations of the world and under the education of the dominant schools of thought, is a one-dimensional human being. If engaged in life, they often become heedless of spirituality. Look at the world, you must have read and heard that in countries far from spirituality—like many European societies and others, although among these countries there are more or less people of meaning—the system is non-spiritual and material. There, people are engaged in life and materialism, securing their stomachs and comfort, and they do not remember spirituality, heartfelt connection with God, attention, remembrance, supplication, lamentation, and supererogatory acts, and they live in complete heedlessness—which is the greatest calamity and affliction for a human being and deprives them of all existing goods.

When they are busy with their stomachs and managing their personal lives, they are even heedless in the field of politics. Most people in advanced countries do not have an understanding and analysis of political issues, and governments, with group and party prejudices and sometimes nationalism, drag them here and there and use them in political fields, and generally, the masses and common people do not have political analysis.

But in Islam, it is not like this. Even now, in our Islamic society, people have political analysis. These deprived segments of the country, these brave and zealous tribes, these dear ones who live in tents or remote villages and paths in the Fars province—some of whom are present in this gathering—have political analysis. In other regions of the country, where I went among the segments of people, talked with them, sat and rose with them, and visited them in their areas and homes and tents, they have political analysis and understand politics and have opinions and motivations and purposes regarding the issues of the country and understand who we are facing in the world today and what the conspiracy of global arrogance and America means. They understand why the enemy imposed the war on us and are aware of why the arrogant world and the armed powers of the world constantly supported our enemy in the war imposed on us and still many of them do. This is political analysis and one dimension of a Muslim person's life.

Therefore, during the ten years and a few months that our late great Imam (may his soul be sanctified) was among us and led our nation and the Muslims of the world, you see in his statements that he emphasized the presence of people in political scenes. People must consider the country of Iran as belonging to themselves. The fate of this nation and country is in the hands of each of you. The greatness and honor of this country become possible when you want it. The independence of this country becomes certain and deep-rooted when people want it and are present in political scenes and do not withdraw from the revolution and know what they are doing and why they are doing it and with what determination and intention they are doing it.

The presence of people revitalizes the living space in a country. When people do not intervene in politics and do not express opinions and concern about political situations and do not know who came and went and who took responsibility and do not know who we are fighting against and where we are heading, the country will not progress. Everyone must help the country's officials. The day has passed when the country belonged to a few and a specific family, and people had believed it. The time has passed when people were strangers to the affairs of the country and it had nothing to do with them.

Today, all the affairs of the country are related to all the people in distant cities and remote villages and tribes and nomads and people of big cities. The country's economy must also be revived and active by the people and with their support. Politics, independence, presence on the international stage, and fighting global arrogance must also be done by the people and with their knowledge and awareness, and for this reason, speakers, radio and television, public communications, mass media, newspapers, and all those who deal with people are obliged to inform and enlighten people about the important issues of the country and the revolution and what is happening to the revolution and its path and the hostilities that are being made and the internal infiltrators of those enemies. People must know all the important issues of the country.

These days, we have mid-term elections ahead. I have two recommendations for the people to whom the elections are related:

The first recommendation is to participate in the elections and not say that it is mid-term and not important. No, the presence of people in the election scene and voting is a political act that people must perform. The second recommendation is to choose someone they determine is suitable to go to the parliament or whom their trusted individuals introduce to them.

The Islamic Consultative Assembly is a fundamental and decisive center for the revolution. All the threads of affairs return to the Islamic Consultative Assembly. The Assembly is the manifestation of the presence and will of the people in various political and economic scenes. If people want something in economic or political fields to happen or not happen and want things related to the fate of the country, they must express their will through the voice and language of their representative and turn it into law, and this law should be implemented across the country. This is the influence of people in legislation. Therefore, the Assembly is very important, and various segments of people should always consider the matter of elections and the Assembly important.

Our great Imam, in this period of time, made this revolution a proof for all the people of the world to know that nations can act and see that the will of superpowers is not decisive in the fate of countries and nations. Today, nations see that the people of Iran, with reliance and trust in God, were able to assert their word. We, by the blessing of our revolution and the blessing of Islam that brought about this revolution and the blessing of following our great and esteemed late Imam and leader, were able to walk a path that was unknown to the people of the world.

Today, revolutions that were dependent show themselves to one side. Those transformations that occurred in countries but did not spring from the feelings and beliefs of the people and were connected and linked to one side and one pole, in the end, it became clear what the fate of something that is not genuine is.

The genuine revolution is this revolution that is based on religion—that too, Islam—and with clear thought and a clear line and worldview, is in front of the people. We continued this path, and God willing, by the grace of the Lord and by adhering to Islam and acting upon the Quran—in all its aspects and surroundings—we will continue it.

I hope that God will bestow His grace and favor upon all of you dear brothers and sisters. I find it necessary to sincerely thank the brothers and sisters who worked hard in the elections, were present, made efforts, supervised, and executed to ensure the order of the elections.

Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings
