Statements of the Supreme Leader and the Commander-in-Chief at the Graduation Ceremony of Police Force Personnel

In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

I sincerely congratulate all of you dear youth, the professors, commanders, and esteemed officials of this university and the police force on both the auspicious birth of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and the graduation of the graduates and the commissioning of the newly commissioned officers of this university.

You are the well-nurtured saplings that have borne fruit in the police force of the Islamic Republic and the hopes for the future of this proud force. The young generation, who have taken on the immense responsibility of security in the country with awareness and knowledge, and have adorned themselves with the weapons of science and religion, as well as the spirit of piety and revolutionary fervor, will undoubtedly be able to fulfill the demands of our dear people in this highly significant matter.

Security is one of the most fundamental and essential needs of a nation and a country. The most significant problem for a country arises when people do not feel secure in their work environment, living environment, educational environment, and in the public space of society. It is here that active minds, capable hands, and skilled fingers will not be able to fulfill the important responsibilities that each one bears. In a secure environment, both scientific efforts and economic endeavors, as well as spirit and vitality, and all activities of a country can be properly planned, pursued with precision, and achieve their results.

The police force, that noble organization, those capable arms, and those resilient shoulders, can and want to bear this heavy burden and perform this great service for the people. Dear youth! Those of you who are preparing yourselves for great services in the police force! Step into this field with this perspective and spirit.

Iranian youth have proven during the blessed Islamic Revolution that there is no impossible task for them. They have shown that their will and determination can overcome all challenges. Strive, will it, make efforts, prepare yourselves; so that you can gift what this great and brave nation expects from you - that is, the establishment of complete security. This is a great duty, and the capable arms that are committed to this task are the police force.

Thanks be to God that the armed forces - both military organizations and the police force - are composed of capable, faithful, and efficient commanders and pure elements, and can fulfill these great responsibilities entrusted to them.

The Iranian nation has demonstrated its worth in various fields. The global threats, international threats, and the frowns of the centers of power of global arrogance have not been able to deter this great nation from the path of dignity, honor, independence, and freedom - that is, the path of the Islamic system and the Islamic Revolution - until today, and will not be able to in the future.

Our dear Iran and the sacred system of the Islamic Republic and the great nation living in this proud region can serve as a model for the world; just as they have been a model in various fields since the revolution until today. Know this without any doubt that the Palestinian nation, even today, while courageously fighting, considers the Iranian nation and the lessons of Iran as their unforgettable lesson and model, and both your friends around the world, who are many, and your enemies, who are the centers of global arrogance, know this well. Palestine continues its blessed and glorious struggle today in the name of God. Once again, the triumph of the will of those who have their hearts devoted to faith in God and belief in themselves over all material powers will be evident and clear. The world will see that the Palestinian nation, under the shadow of steadfastness, will step by step move towards its goals. Palestine belongs to the Palestinian nation. Today, this nation is in the field. In the Islamic world, there is also a commotion from the excitement that this nation has created in the international arena with its courageous stand.

Of course, Muslim nations have a heavier duty; Muslim governments also have great responsibilities. The Islamic Iran, its people, and its government sympathize with the Palestinian nation in unison, in harmony, and in solidarity; they accompany them; in various fields, in different arenas, they support this nation. This is the duty of all governments. Today, the Palestinian nation rightly has expectations from the Islamic Ummah; it has expectations from Islamic governments as well. Today, the great Islamic Ummah also expects Islamic governments - especially Arab governments - to cut their relations with the usurping, oppressive, and audacious Zionism. Zionism has once again revealed its true face; it has shown once again that nothing governs it except the language of force, the logic of force, and the mindset of force and bullying.

Thanks to God, the Iranian nation has been able to either create or strengthen the thought of independence, steadfastness, and self-reliance among nations in the Islamic world. My dear ones! You serve such a nation; you study and receive training for such a nation and prepare yourselves.

Security is a fundamental issue. Social security, individual security, security in all living environments, intellectual, spiritual, and psychological security, all of these are among the expectations of the people. A significant part of this duty rests on the shoulders of the police force. Talented youth, faithful youth, thanks be to God, are preparing themselves in this force to meet these great responsibilities.

I pray for all of you dear ones and hope that you can prepare yourselves as befits this great nation; that you can fulfill your duties in the best possible manner, as befits you and in accordance with the expectations from you; relying on yourselves, engaging in scientific methods in all various sectors, emerging as a trustworthy, dear, dignified, and beloved force.

The police force must shine in the living environment of the people with dignity, trustworthiness, and efficiency. A nation that regards its police force as dear, considers it one with itself, and trusts it, is a happy nation.

The people must regard the police force as their own, and you must create this assurance and trust in the hearts of the people through your behavior, your methods, your trustworthiness, and your moral integrity in practice. People feel at ease when they see young men and women in this large and efficient organization fulfilling their duties correctly and achieving what is expected of them.

We hope that God Almighty grants you all success; may the pure souls of the martyrs of the police force and all the dear martyrs of the armed forces and all the martyrs of the Iranian nation be gathered with the saints, prophets, and Imams (peace be upon them), and may the pure soul of Imam Khomeini (may his soul be sanctified) be pleased, and may the dear disabled veterans be encompassed by His mercy, grace, and favor.
