Statements at Imam Hussein University of Officers and Guardianship

In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

And may peace be upon Muhammad and his pure family.

I congratulate you, dear youth, and the beloved children and light of the eyes of the Iranian nation; both the young men who have today entered the sacred guardianship and those who have received their epaulettes and entered this proud stage. I thank you for the innovative, beautiful, and profound programs of this field; the arrangement of the field and its programs were beautiful, meaningful, and innovative. In all matters of life - in knowledge, in management, in advancing lifestyle, in preserving revolutionary values; in all important matters - these few points are both necessary and possible; we must seriously consider innovation and creativity in all work, as well as beauty and visual appeal, and being profound and meaningful; we must refrain from superficial work in all matters of life and the important issues of the country and focus on deep, meaningful, and lasting work.

Thanks be to God that this pure tree, namely the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, has today reached an acceptable stage of capabilities, advancements, and intellectual and practical maturity. God willing, day by day you have progressed; day by day you have enhanced both the appearance and the essence. This university itself is one of the signs of the evolution of the forward movement of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps. Dear youth, my beloved children! Be aware that the foundation of your university is the liberation of Khorramshahr, the Operation Fath ol-Mobin, the Operation Fao, and the Operation Karbala Five; the foundation that has provided the grounds for these advancements is that struggle, that sacrifice, those brilliant lights that shone on the front lines through your predecessors, dazzled the eyes, set the country in motion, and aligned the living environment of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the dear people of this country with its goals and ideals.

Today, the continuation of the movement of the great Islamic revolution is in your hands. Which flag? The flag of the "new Islamic discourse" that is a guide and facilitator for the happiness of humanity. Let everyone know this; the Islamic discourse is a guide for all humans and for humanity. This discourse is in the hands of today's youth; this new, attractive, and compelling discourse was created by the Islamic Revolution under the leadership of Imam Khomeini (may his soul be sanctified) and was placed in the hands of this nation; this intelligent, vigilant, and appreciative nation has embraced it and valued it, safeguarding it until today; and the sacrifices of the Iranian nation, one of the most important manifestations of which was the Sacred Defense, have enabled this flag to be raised today.

In front of this flag, in front of this discourse, is the discourse of today's ignorance in the world. The Islamic discourse advocates justice, advocates human freedom, advocates the elimination of the grounds for global arrogance and colonialism, advocates the destruction of the system of domination throughout the world; meaning that there should not be two factions of the oppressor and the oppressed in the world; this discourse is the Islamic system; this is the very flag that is in your hands. Its opposite is a discourse that is oppressive, tyrannical, arrogant, and selfish from the monopolistic powers of the world, the dominating powers of the world that rely on the large economic enterprises of the world; they have always existed, and they still do today; in the past, they openly and shamelessly revealed their truth; today, they hypocritically and deceitfully carry out their work under various beautiful phrases, such as human rights, non-violence, and the like; however, the sharp eyes of nations can discern; they can see these two discourses in opposition to each other. These two discourses will not reconcile, these two discourses will not come close; they cannot reconcile. One discourse is the discourse of oppression and hostility towards the oppressed and nations; one discourse is the discourse of supporting the oppressed and confronting the oppressors; how can they shake hands? How can they come close? And today the world knows this, the world understands this.

Our enemies in their propaganda try to portray the Islamic Republic as isolated. The Islamic Republic is not isolated; from the beginning of its emergence until today, it has had a place in the hearts of the nations of the world. Yes, wherever there is propaganda, blackening, and black deeds, a certain truth may remain hidden, but it will remain hidden for a limited time. Look from the beginning of the revolution until today, whenever any of the presidents of the Islamic Republic of Iran traveled to other countries and faced the nations, those nations showed their admiration in their behavior and speech. This has not been specific to one period; it has been this way from the beginning of the revolution until today; both in North Africa, in Central Africa, in the region of West Asia - which the Westerners insist on calling the Middle East - and in the region of East Asia in the subcontinent, even in countries adjacent to European countries, wherever the presidents of the Islamic Republic of Iran went and were allowed and they themselves endeavored to meet the people, the people of those countries expressed their admiration. Today, it is like this everywhere in the world.

Today, your name, the name of the Iranian nation, is a lofty and honorable name in the world and among nations and among the free people of the world. [Among] governments, how is it? Governments are also made up of humans. Those who are not very dark-hearted and unfortunate, those who are not immersed in desires, those who have not wholeheartedly accepted the servitude of global arrogance also acknowledge and confess to the greatness of the Iranian nation and the greatness of that system that has been able to advance this nation in this way. In the gatherings that have been held in our country - whether in the Islamic conference, or in the Non-Aligned Movement - the most prominent leaders and officials of the world have gathered here and expressed their interest. It is said that Iran is isolated! The isolated ones are those who can only attract hearts with force, only with money, only with dollars; neither their message, nor their expression, nor their actions create any attraction in the world. My dear youth, my beloved children of the Iranian nation! It is you who carry this glorious flag. In this university and in all parts of the country in various sectors, our youth are faithfully moving in this path.

We will not lose our dignity, which has been achieved through Islam and the Islamic system and revolutionary movement and revolutionary outlook and revolutionary ideals. Today, the enemies are engaged in challenges and every day they present a different challenge to the Islamic Republic of Iran; we have no shame, we have no fear. If we were a lifeless and motionless body, there would be no challenge against us; we are dynamic, we are alive, we are growing, we are active, therefore we should expect challenges to arise against us and with strength, with reliance on God Almighty, with trust in divine promises, and with self-reliance and confidence, we will overcome these challenges. Our enemies have misunderstood, they have misjudged the Iranian nation, they have not correctly recognized the officials of the Islamic Republic who speak forcefully. In the same negotiations related to nuclear issues, they act with bullying, they speak; this is a sign that they do not know the nation; it is a sign that they do not know our government; our government will not submit, our government is also part of the nation, it has emerged from this nation, it has advanced with these ideals, it has grown with these ideals. The more a government, a nation, officials retreat in front of this enemy, the more they advance; they are greedy; they are not satisfied with anything but global arrogance, colonialism, and domination over nations; they will advance as much as they can; a solid wall of determination, reliance, and national power must be built against them.

Now in these negotiations, they are making new demands. [For example] inspections, we said that we will not allow any inspections from any military centers by foreigners. They say we must come and interview your scientists, meaning in reality interrogate them. We will not allow any insult to the sanctity of our nuclear scientists and scientists in any sensitive and important field. I will not allow foreigners to come and talk to our scientists, to our distinguished and beloved children of the Iranian nation who have brought this extensive knowledge to this point, to sit and talk. No wise person in the world allows this, no government allows this; they hide their scientists, they do not let anyone know their names. The arrogant and shameless enemy expects to be allowed to open the way and come to talk with our scientists, with our professors, with our researchers. About what? About a fundamental scientific indigenous advancement in the country. This will absolutely not be allowed; let both the enemies know this and those who are waiting to see what the decision of the Islamic Republic system will be.

Our dear officials who are courageously moving in this field should know that the only way to confront the shameless enemy is steadfast determination and non-passivity; they must be able to convey the message of the Iranian nation and the greatness of the Iranian nation in the negotiations. All of us - each and every one of us - are those who, thanks to the Islamic Revolution, have had the opportunity to have responsibilities. Your predecessors - you as a young student with lofty aspirations - in various sectors, all of these have the honor to strive for the Islamic system, to achieve those lofty goals and ideals; they serve; we are all servants; I too am a servant to all of you. We all have a duty to stand with full power and resilience against the bullying of the enemy, against the shamelessness of the enemy, against the unreasonable demands of the enemy, and against the plots of the enemy.

I have news that our enemies, in collaboration with some foolish officials of the Persian Gulf region - not all of them, some - are trying to bring proxy wars to the borders of Iran. The Islamic Revolutionary Guards and all the guardians of national security in various organizations are awake and vigilant. Let them know that if any mischief occurs, the reaction of the Islamic Republic will be very severe.

This is a clear path, this is an open and broad path, this is a clear horizon in front of the Iranian nation that the Iranian nation is, God willing, moving along this path with full hope; of course, traversing the paths towards great goals has its fatigue, its costs, its problems. Those who have been considered worthy humans throughout history, those nations that have received the medal of worthiness from history, are those who did not tire from problems, did not kneel in front of challenges, did not retreat in front of the tyrannical enemies, and showed a solid wall of determination and national will against any kind of aggression - verbal aggression, practical aggression, hard aggression, soft aggression - against all of these aggressions. The Iranian nation is among these nations; for 35 years, the Iranian nation has been moving along this path; today you dear youth are the ripe fruits of this field; God willing, you and other young people who are working, striving, and studying across the country will carry this heavy burden; God willing, you will carry this trust better than us, better than the previous generation, and brighten the eyes of our dear and honorable martyrs in the presence of God and in the divine realm.

O Lord! Send down Your mercy and blessings upon the pure souls of our precious martyrs and upon the pure spirit of our Imam Khomeini (may his soul be sanctified). O Lord! Bestow Your mercy and blessings upon these young hearts, upon these pure individuals. O Lord! In this month of Sha'ban and in the month of Ramadan that is ahead, grant these young people increasing success in servitude and increasing closeness to You.
