In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

First, I extend a warm welcome to all of you, brothers and sisters, who have come from different parts of the Islamic world and various cities of the country to Tehran with the intention of visiting the shrine of our dear Imam and participating in the Arbaeen ceremony of that great figure. I offer my condolences on this great calamity.

One of the fundamental issues in the Islamic Revolution of Iran and the great movement that Imam Khomeini (may his soul be sanctified) initiated is the attention to the great Islamic Ummah and the deep and strong bond among Muslims worldwide, despite geographical distances and racial and linguistic differences. Perhaps in the Islamic world, one of the few primary issues that demands the attention of all Muslims globally is this very issue.

One of the goals of colonialism's entry into Eastern and Islamic countries was to create distance among Muslims. They pursued various methods to create distance among Muslim brothers in Islamic lands; from intensifying nationalist sentiments and motivations to creating and exacerbating sectarian differences. Certainly, the role of corrupt and colonial puppet governments in creating this distance was unique and very effective.

Today, we form a population of approximately one billion people scattered across strategic and sensitive points and regions where the major resources needed by today's world are stored. At the same time, Muslims worldwide, in most countries—whether in countries where they live as a minority or in countries where they form the overwhelming majority of the population—are in an unfavorable social, political, and economic situation.

This is while Islam and the noble verses of the Quran guide their followers towards various human perfections, such as knowledge, moral virtues, social justice, dignity, strength, unity, and not submitting to impositions. It is clear that the current situation of Muslims in the Islamic world and across the globe is not natural or accidental; rather, these conditions have been imposed on Muslims.

From the very first day that the Islamic movement in Iran began under the leadership of our great and noble Imam, one of the main objectives of this movement was the unity of Muslims worldwide and the removal of the hands of oppressive and aggressive powers from over Muslims. This message remains the message of our revolution.

Zionist media, with noise and clamor, attribute us to fundamentalism; whereas if fundamentalism means a return to Islamic principles and foundations, we have achieved the greatest honor. Muslims in no part of the world should shy away from the name of fundamentalist. The sacred principles of Islam guarantee the happiness of humanity. The hand of colonialism weakened and faded these principles in our lives; but now we take pride in returning to Islamic and Quranic principles.

On the other hand, Zionist media and colonial apparatuses of the world attribute the Islamic Republic to exporting the revolution. If exporting the revolution means exporting explosives and creating chaos and unrest among nations and other countries, this accusation is completely distant from the Islamic Republic. Exporting evil and corruption belongs to America and the espionage and destructive apparatuses of the arrogant systems. They are the ones who bring discomfort, chaos, and insecurity among nations and unjustly interfere in their work, lives, and internal affairs. They are the ones who, through their agents and mercenaries, act against revolutionary and popular governments and also the innocent, causing trouble and discomfort.

Today, the hands of the leaders of the American regime and their agents and mercenaries and the reactionaries ruling Islamic countries are stained with the blood of innocents, civilians, passengers of the Iranian passenger plane, four hundred Iranian pilgrims, oppressed Palestinians, and the people of Lebanon. They are terrorists, and the Islamic Republic of Iran is free from such accusations.

If exporting the revolution means exporting the Quranic and human-building culture of Islam, this is correct, and we take pride in it. We consider it our duty to loudly and powerfully propagate the concepts, values, rulings, and Islamic teachings that are the means of salvation for nations, the oppressed, and the downtrodden. We feel that if we do not fulfill this duty, we are at fault.

Even if we do not take action to spread Islamic and revolutionary concepts and values, the nature of these concepts and teachings is such that, like the gentle air and the fragrance of spring flowers, they will naturally spread in the mindset of the world; whether the enemies want it or not. Today, Muslims worldwide must pay attention that the arrogant apparatuses, with their clamor, want to prevent them from expressing the most truthful and sincere feelings and teachings.

For many years, the decadent Western culture, without any obstacle or deterrent, has been engaged in destruction and corruption in Islamic countries. Unfortunately, corrupt and dependent governments could not create the strong barrier expected from a righteous government against the cultural and political conspiracies of the enemies; hence, the leaders of Western countries, in their political domination and economic plundering, spread their decadent, humiliating, and degrading culture in Islamic countries, and no one stopped or deterred them.

Today is the day when the Islamic world has awakened, and Muslims worldwide feel dignity and pride. The day when Muslims in every part of the world were ashamed to express their Islam has passed. Today, Muslims take pride in their Islam, and this is due to the power and greatness of the revolution that, with the capable hands of our great leader and noble Imam and with the astonishing sacrifice and dedication of the great Iranian nation, occurred in this sensitive point of the world and astonished the world.

For ten years, the Islamic Republic has stood manfully against the various conspiracies of global arrogance and has defended Islam, its existence, and stability with power and has been able to return the blows of the enemy to itself.

The arrogant governments think that by imposing an eight-year war on us and economic and propaganda siege and spreading rumors and accusations worldwide, they will be able to harm us; unaware that Islam and the awakening of Muslims have shaken their thrones of power, and with each passing day, the fierce waves of Islamic awakening will shake the thrones of the pharaohs of the world even more.

Our Muslim brothers worldwide should know that the Iranian nation, relying on God and with the valuable treasure of leadership, guidance, and enduring lessons of our great and late Imam, and with the precious experience gained in the ten and a half years after the victory of the revolution, is today more vibrant, prepared, and experienced than any period after the victory of the revolution and is more courageous in facing the apparatuses of global arrogance and domination.

We do not feel weak in the face of the conspiracies of arrogance; on the contrary, we always feel power in the depths of our hearts and souls. Real power belongs to us because we rely on God and know that reliance on God is an inexhaustible treasure. We, the officials of the Islamic Republic, rely on this great, powerful, sincere, and self-sacrificing nation; which is also God's grace and the result of His favor and grace.

The Iranian nation has well understood that Islam is the very factor that has mobilized the enemies against them; "And they resented them only because they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy," and they know that this very Islam will be the source of their dignity, victory, and pride. Our people believe this with all their being and the depths of their souls.

In our view, a very bright and promising future lies ahead. The path that Imam (may his soul be sanctified) started and introduced us to, God willing, we will continue that path until the realization of the final goals.

Muslims worldwide should strengthen their bond with their brothers in the Islamic Republic. The hearts of the members of the great Islamic Ummah should come closer to each other day by day. The means and tools of division and discord imposed by the enemy on Muslim nations should not be effective in the current awakening atmosphere of Muslims. Despite regional and geographical distance and linguistic and racial differences, Muslims should be united in heart, language, thought, and step and move towards the great Islamic goals.

Once again, I sincerely thank all of you dear brothers and sisters who came from different countries to the Islamic Republic and joined your voices with the Iranian nation, offered condolences to them, and showed sympathy and sincerity in the mourning of the dear Imam of the Islamic Ummah, and also from the dear brothers and sisters who came from Mashhad. I entrust all of you to God.

Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings
