Speech in Meeting with the Mourning People of Rafsanjan on the Anniversary of Imam Khomeini's Passing

In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

"May God magnify your reward, God willing." We hope that the pure and illuminated soul of that righteous servant, who truly worshipped God, will assist us so that wherever we are and whatever we do, in this commemoration of the great calamity of his loss, we emulate him; that is, just as he built himself, we should train and build ourselves. This is the essence of the matter.

You sincere and knowledgeable brothers, with these pure feelings and divine motivation, have come all the way from Rafsanjan to express your devotion to that man of spirituality. If it were not for Imam's spirituality, this country would not have moved, this movement would not have arisen, the revolution would not have happened, and this iron fortress against the powers and superpowers would not have been established. Even in his passing, such a storm would not have arisen. How is it that with the passing of one person, millions were moved, millions of hearts were broken, millions of eyes wept, and millions of people around the world mourned? The reason was that this righteous servant was connected to God in his life, was a servant of God, obeyed Him, and kept himself away from carnal desires. God elevated him and made him akin to the prophets and saints, and gave his soul and words the effect that moved the world with his language of expression, guidance, and action. Even now, the world continues to move in the light of Imam's guidance, and God willing, it will continue to do so.

May God, God willing, grant success to all of us and you dear brothers who have come from Rafsanjan, especially the respected scholars, the esteemed families of martyrs, the disabled, the captives, the missing, and other groups, and accept this effort from you, and may He make the sacred soul of the Imam pleased and satisfied with you, and grant everyone success in moving in that path and orienting towards those goals.
