Statements to the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff of Shahid Rajai Heart Hospital
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I am very grateful to all the dear and hardworking staff of this hospital; especially to the honorable head of the hospital and the medical, nursing, and technical staff, and other involved personnel, who have kept this hospital orderly and equipped. This, thanks be to God, is the pride of the country. During these few days that I have been here, the condition of the hospital naturally reveals itself, and everything indicates that, thanks be to God, efforts are being made to maintain the hospital in terms of equipment, general prestige, and medical treatment of patients. I thank you both for myself and especially for the condition of the hospital.
Our wish is that we can expand this hospital and others like it so much that all the people of this country can use facilities like these when needed; because illness and physical ailments are a natural and inevitable matter for everyone, especially for low-income groups. The day we can provide such facilities for all people will be a day of celebration for us; we hope that day will come.
Thanks be to God, progress has been made here as well. In the year 1981, I was hospitalized here for a few weeks. In these past years, I have been aware of and monitoring the situation here from afar; I know that a lot of effort has been made. Fortunately, the hospital is now well-managed; both Dr. Maleki and Dr. Motakallem, along with the doctors, nurses, and various officials, are working hard.
Let me say one thing that pertains to all hospital staff. That is, the job of serving patients is one of the noblest professions. From the person who cleans this corridor or those sheets, to the one who undertakes sensitive and important jobs with greater impact, all help the patient equally. Each of you, especially the doctors and nurses, help in some way. Helping the patient in any way is one of the best and noblest professions because it brings joy to people's hearts. Some heart patients have surgery, some do not, some are waiting their turn, some are in anticipation, and some do not know what ailment they have. Bringing joy to the heart of a person in need of help, in addition to being one of the charities and services, also pleases God. Pleasing God and satisfying the sacred essence of the Lord, and any work that contains God's satisfaction, cannot be measured or compared with anything material.
I will not say more than this; I only recall that our great departed Imam was also hospitalized here for a while. This is a very valuable record and history for your hospital. Thank you very much.
Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings
