In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

O Turner of hearts and sights, O Manager of night and day, O Transformer of years and conditions, transform our state to the best state.

Peace be upon Fatimah and her father, her husband, and her children.

The beginning of the year coincides with the days of the martyrdom of Lady Zahra (peace be upon her); the devotion of our people to the family of the Prophet and the esteemed daughter of the greatest Prophet entails requirements that certainly everyone must observe, and they will certainly do so. It is hoped that these days and this year will be filled with the blessings of Fatimah; and the blessed name of this great lady and her memory will leave profound and lasting impacts on the lives of our people in the year 1394. We hope that this beginning of the spring of nature, which marks the new year in the Solar Hijri calendar, will be a blessing for the Iranian nation and for all nations that honor Nowruz. I humbly extend my greetings to the presence of the Almighty Mahdi (may our souls be sacrificed for him) and honor the memory of our great Imam Khomeini (may his soul be sanctified) and the martyrs on this occasion, hoping that we may benefit from the blessings of the pure souls and prayers of those dear ones. Let us take a brief look at the year 1393 and an overview of the current year that begins at this hour. The year 1393 was a year full of events for our country, both domestically and internationally; we faced challenges, but we also made progress. At the beginning of 1393, considering these challenges, we designated the title of the year as "National Resolve and Jihad Management." Looking back at what transpired in 1393, we observe that national resolve, thanks be to God, manifested itself. Our nation demonstrated its firm resolve both in enduring some of the difficulties it faced and on the 22nd of Bahman, on Quds Day, and in the massive Arbaeen march, showcasing this resolve and determination. Jihad management was also evident in some sectors, thanks be to God. In those areas where Jihad management was observed, we also witnessed progress. Of course, this is not a specific recommendation for the year 1393; both national resolve and Jihad management are necessary for this year and for all the years to come for our nation.

As for the year 1394, we have great aspirations for our dear nation, and all these aspirations are attainable. Our major aspirations for the nation this year include economic progress; regional and international power and dignity; genuine scientific leaps; judicial and economic justice; and faith and spirituality, which are the most important and the foundation of all other headings. In our view, all these demands and aspirations are attainable; none of these are beyond the capacity of the Iranian nation and the policies of the system. Our capacities are very abundant; there are many things to be said in this regard, which God willing will be addressed in the important speech this evening.

What I wish to convey to our dear nation at this hour is that this immense and important capacity is attainable, but it has conditions; one of the most important conditions is sincere cooperation between the nation and the government. If this sincere cooperation is established from both sides, certainly all that which is part of our aspirations will be attainable, and our dear people will witness its effects. The government is the servant of the nation; and the nation is the employer of the government. The more sincerity, cooperation, and solidarity there is between the nation and the government, the better the work will progress. They must trust each other; the government must genuinely acknowledge the nation and recognize the value, importance, and capabilities of the nation, and the nation must trust the government, which is the executor of its affairs, in the true sense of the word. I have remarks and recommendations in this regard that God willing will be mentioned in the speech. Therefore, I believe this year should be regarded as the year of extensive cooperation between the government and the nation; I have chosen this slogan for this year: "Government and Nation, Unity and Harmony." We hope this slogan will be realized in practice, and both sides of this slogan, namely our dear nation, our great nation, our determined and courageous nation, our insightful and knowledgeable nation, and also the serving government can truly act upon this slogan and witness its effects and results.

We ask the Almighty God for the progress of all the great affairs of the country and seek His assistance in our service to Him.

Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings.
