Statements in Meeting with Officials of the Islamic Republic
On the ninth day of the blessed month of Ramadan 1435
In the Hosseiniyeh of Imam Khomeini (may his soul be sanctified)
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Thanks be to God, the Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our master Muhammad and his pure family.
First, I extend my welcome to each and every one of the dear brothers and sisters, the committed officials of the Islamic Republic system. This is a very good meeting, and God willing, it will be filled with divine blessings, guidance, and the light of this month. The statements of Mr. President were also very good, clear, and sufficient. What the intention and determination of the officials of the country is, we hope that by the blessing of this month and the prayers of the righteous, believers, and fasting individuals, they will achieve the desired results.
The month of Ramadan is called "blessed"; the reason for the blessedness of this month is that it is the way to salvation from the fire and the attainment of paradise, as we read in the prayer of the day of Ramadan: "And this is the month of liberation from the fire and the attainment of paradise." The fire and hell of God, as well as paradise and divine bliss, exist in this world. What is realized in the hereafter is the essence of what is here: "And indeed, hell is surrounding the disbelievers"; hell is right here, in this realm, in this life, surrounding the disbelievers, oppressors, adversaries, and opponents; paradise is the same.
That we go from hell to paradise is in our own hands; it is realized here, and its objective and inner reality will be seen in that realm. We can make this journey, this movement from the hell of bad deeds, the hell of ill intentions, the hell of bad thoughts, from this hell that belongs to this world to the paradise of good deeds, the paradise of good thoughts, good behavior, and good character; this movement is called "repentance". Therefore, it is mentioned in the prayer: "And this is the month of repentance"; through repentance, liberation from the fire and attainment of paradise will be achieved.
One of the blessings of the blessed month of Ramadan is the prayers that have been revealed in this month. These prayers teach us both the quality of speaking with God and seeking help from the Lord and turning to God, as well as many teachings that one cannot find even in conventional moral narrations. I have selected two phrases from the prayers of this month to present at the beginning of my remarks. The selection of these two phrases is due to the needs of today for you and me; today, as officials of our dear country and the officials of the Islamic Republic system, we have an urgent need for serious and persistent work accompanied by purity and sincerity; these prayers guide us in this direction. One prayer is the prayer of the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan, from which I have selected this phrase: "O God, make us among those who intend and act, and do not make us among those who are wretched and lazy, and not among those who rely on something other than action"; three sentences. The first sentence states: "O God, make us among those who intend and act"; O Lord! Make us among those who act with intention, purpose, and knowledge; purposeful action, action accompanied by intention, action that is known in advance in what direction and towards what goal it is headed. The second sentence: "And do not make us among those who are wretched and lazy"; do not make us among those who are afflicted with laziness and idleness. Laziness means lethargy, means idleness; do not make us among these. The prayer teaches us this. The third sentence: "And do not make us among those who rely on something other than action"; do not make us among those who depend on something other than action. Sitting, wishing, talking, and weaving matters together in meetings without any action following it; do not make us among these. See, the lesson in this prayer is this. A believer enters this divine banquet on the first day of Ramadan with this breath. This itself is one of the great bounties of this banquet. This is one prayer.
The second prayer is the daily prayer of the blessed month; in this prayer, it states: "And remove from me in it drowsiness, laziness, boredom, negligence, hardness of heart, heedlessness, and delusion"; O Lord! Keep me away from these traits and characteristics: first, "drowsiness"; second, "laziness", meaning idleness and lethargy; third, "boredom", becoming weary of something, losing interest; then "negligence", meaning passing tasks with negligence, not maintaining firmness in tasks; then "hardness of heart", rigidity, lack of flexibility; then "heedlessness"; becoming oblivious and confused about one’s situation and what is happening and what is ahead of us and what surrounds us; and lastly, "delusion"; being deceived, becoming arrogant, being misled; keep me away from these. See what lessons these are. Well, the application of these concepts - which are very prominent and elevated concepts - is much more important for officials and those in positions of responsibility than for ordinary individuals. When we say do not let us fall into laziness, do not let us fall into hardness of heart, do not let us fall into heedlessness, we are in need of this divine request and this vigilance from two perspectives: one from our personal perspective so that we do not slip, do not make mistakes, do not encounter problems; and one from the perspective of our mission and responsibility. You are like a captain steering a ship, like a pilot flying an airplane; your issue is not just about preserving your own life; you are different from someone who is in their own private car and is just driving on the road; their responsibility is only for their own life; you are not, you have a group with you. This is what makes the weight of responsibility and the necessity of commitment regarding these matters heavier.
In our religious literature, the month of Ramadan is the month of confrontation between Satan and satanic behaviors on one side, and merciful behaviors and obedience and servitude on the other. It is said that Satan is restrained in the month of Ramadan - this is one side - and it is said that the month of Ramadan is the month of obedience and servitude, where the shortest and most profound word is the word "piety": "Fasting has been prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may attain piety." The issue is the confrontation of Satan and the confrontation of piety. The work of Satan is to seduce; what does seduction mean? It means creating disruption in your calculation system - that is what Satan does - the opposite point is the function of piety; Satan's effort is to seduce you, meaning to disable the rational system, the innate system, the correct measurement system that has been placed within human beings; that is, to lead a person to make errors in calculation. The function of piety is the opposite: "If you are pious, God will grant you a criterion"; piety gives you the criterion, meaning awareness to distinguish between truth and falsehood. In another noble verse, it states: "And be conscious of God, and God will teach you"; piety causes the Almighty God to open the doors of knowledge, awareness, and understanding for you.
Satan's influence on our calculation system is through threats and temptations; on one side, it frightens us: the noble verse of the Quran in Surah Al-Imran states: "Indeed, it is Satan who frightens his allies; so do not fear them, but fear Me if you are believers." In the incident of the battle that occurred after Uhud - when they came and spread rumors that the enemy had come, your father was killed, you lost everything - the Prophet said: Those who were wounded in the battle of Uhud today should take up their swords and come; even if none of you come, I will go alone. The Prophet set out, and those who were wounded that day took up their swords and followed the Prophet, and they defeated the enemy who was ambushed near Medina - the news was true - and returned. "They returned with a blessing from God and a favor, and no harm touched them"; then it states: "Indeed, it is Satan who frightens his allies." One of the works of Satan is to frighten: "Satan promises you poverty"; it frightens you about poverty - according to one interpretation of the meaning of this noble verse - this was a threat, and on the other side, there is temptation; on the other side, Satan promises, seductive promises; here too, the noble verse of the Quran states: "He promises them and gives them false hopes, and what Satan promises them is nothing but delusion"; he promises, awakens desires in their hearts, brings forth a colorful and false future like a mirage before the eyes of the believers; "and what Satan promises them is nothing but delusion"; but it is a deception. On one side, there is threat, and on the other side, there is temptation; like the behavior that America has today and the arrogant powers always have; on one side, they threaten, and on the other side, they tempt. Temptation is not just personal temptation; there are general temptations: "We will do this, we will do that"; then they do not do it, they lie; that is the work of Satan. All the actions that Satan performs - this seduction, this threat and temptation - are to disable the calculation system of the believing human so that they make incorrect calculations; when the calculation system is disabled, things go wrong. Incorrect calculations are one of the greatest dangers; sometimes they threaten human life; sometimes they threaten human destiny; because human ability, human strength, human capabilities are under the control of their will, and human will is influenced by their calculation system: if the calculation system works poorly, human will makes a decision and goes in a direction that is wrong; then human forces, all human capabilities are employed in this wrong direction; this is what you must be careful about. We said, vigilance regarding a person who has no responsibility is one meaning, vigilance regarding you and me who have a sphere of responsibility is another meaning. We must be careful that our calculation system is not disrupted by the Satans of mankind and jinn, that we do not misunderstand matters. Satan is not just the jinn; Iblis is not just that; "We have made for every prophet an enemy, Satans of mankind and jinn, inspiring some of them to others with adorned speech, delusion"; Satans of mankind and jinn help each other. I emphasize here: one of the calculation errors is that a person remains confined within the framework of tangible and merely material factors; that is, they ignore spiritual factors, divine traditions, the traditions that God has informed about, those things that cannot be seen with the eye; this is one of the greatest calculation errors. God has said: "If you support God, He will support you and make your feet firm"; clearer than this? If you move in the way of God, support the religion of God, God will support you; this is a divine tradition, this is unchangeable: "And you will not find any change in the tradition of God"; if you move in the way of reviving the divine religion and observe this direction, God will support you. This is what the Quran has said, with such clarity that it is a divine promise; we have also experienced it in practice. Know that this piece of history of the revolution in the extended history that will be discussed in future generations is one of the most prominent historical moments. In the material world, in the world of the dominance of superpowers, in the world of comprehensive hostility against Islam and Islamic teachings and Islamic values, a system has emerged based on Islam, right at a point where the influence of those deviant powers was most felt and present. [This] is something strange; you and I have become accustomed to it. This is the same "If you support God, He will support you". And He will make your feet firm; you will not be shaken, just as we have not been shaken. The Iranian nation has not been shaken; all this pressure, all this conspiracy, all this harm, all this treachery, the Iranian nation has not been deterred. This is one of the divine traditions.
The noble verse of the Quran states: "Have you not seen how God has struck a parable? A good word is like a good tree, its root is firm and its branches are in the sky. It yields its fruit at all times by permission of its Lord." A good word, a correct action, a pure action, an action for God is like this, that it remains, takes root in the ground, becomes firm, and will bear fruit. The Islamic Republic is that good word, like the good tree, has remained, has become more firm. Today, the Islamic Republic, as a system, as a government, as a political entity, cannot be compared to thirty years ago in terms of firmness. In the next two verses, it states: "God will make firm those who believe with the firm word in this world and in the Hereafter." It reiterates the same firmness and establishment. These factors must be seen; in our calculations, these factors must be taken into account. All the factors of happiness and misery, progress and regression, achieving and not achieving successes do not remain confined within the framework of the conventional material factors that materialists, the people of the tangible, are content with; these factors exist alongside.
What I want to convey in this section of my remarks - which is also my main point - is that today we must not make mistakes in our calculations; do not let the enemy affect your calculation system; do not let them seduce you; do not let their temptation or threat have an effect. Today, the struggle of the Islamic Republic against global arrogance - which began with the revolution and continues with strength - is the same struggle of the prophets against the tyrants of the time, against the Satans of mankind and jinn. We are pursuing lofty ideals; we are seeking to establish an Islamic society, an Islamic system, an Islamic country, an Islamic nation, and to realize the great aspirations of the prophets, the truthful, and the martyrs; and the satanic apparatus of the time is a united front and naturally opposes such a movement. [Therefore], they create obstacles, harass, and threaten; while with all the glitter that the opposing front has and the apparent glory and material capabilities it possesses, this divine movement and prophetic movement continues on its path, makes an impact, expands day by day, and deepens day by day.
What we observe today in the behavior of the arrogant system is just this; the goal is to create disruption in the calculation system and the calculation apparatus of you and me. In other fields, the arrogance has not been able to do anything. In real fields, the only two material factors in the hands of the arrogant front have been and are: one is military threats, and the other is sanctions. The arrogance has nothing else at its disposal. In terms of logical power, the power of reasoning, the ability to prove legitimacy, the hand of the arrogance is tied. It can only do two things: one is military threats that it constantly makes, and the other is sanctions; both of these have remedies. Sanctions must be neutralized with efforts in the realm of resistant economy. This point that the respected President mentioned today; he has said it before, and this point is completely correct: economic programs must be planned and pursued based on the assumption that sanctions will remain and will be realized. Let us assume that these sanctions will not decrease even a little bit; now they themselves are saying the same thing. They also say that the sanctions will not be lifted, even if we reach an agreement in the nuclear field; there are still other things; this is the same thing we have always said. I have repeatedly stated in this session and in various other sessions that [the issue] of the nuclear program is an excuse; even if the nuclear issue is not there, they will bring up another excuse: the issue of human rights, the issue of women's rights, various issues abound; they fabricate and make excuses that do not require much effort, and they have a propaganda apparatus and a propaganda empire at their disposal. Therefore, the remedy for the issue of sanctions is precisely this resistant economy; I will say a few sentences in this regard later.
As for the issue of military threats; today, there are very few who take military threats seriously; now the Americans say the Iranians do not take them seriously; we are not the only ones who do not take them seriously; there are many in the world who do not take this threat seriously. Global observers do not believe that this threat is serious; because the judgment of global observers and those aware of politics is that if a military attack were profitable for America, they would not hesitate for a moment. Do they care that a number of people will be killed, that a crisis will arise somewhere? Those who supported a wolf named Saddam with all their might for eight years, those who shot down a passenger plane in the sky without any excuse and destroyed hundreds of people - men, women, and innocent children - and drenched them in blood, do they fear killing? Those who have caused crises wherever they could and have been able to create crises; these colored gatherings - as they call them "colored revolutions" - in these countries, in which none of these crises have occurred without the superpowers, especially America, being at the forefront and present? They create crises within countries; now whether these crises lead to killings, lead to civil wars, it does not matter to them. Those who attacked Afghanistan, those who attacked Iraq, hundreds of thousands were killed; those who, after the end of military operations in Iraq, through security apparatuses and mercenary companies for killing people like Blackwater - which we have previously mentioned - killed people one by one in Baghdad and other cities in Iraq, do they fear killing? Do they care about the killing of human beings? [They do not care about these things].
The issue is not that military threats are because they do not want to. They repeatedly say that Israel threatens military action, and America prevents it! Well, why does America prevent it? If this statement has any reality, if this statement is true, what is the reason? They are not disturbed by the fact that a military attack occurs in a country and a number of people are killed? No, they do not find it profitable. I firmly say: a military attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran is not profitable for any country. Today, the Americans themselves criticize the attack on Iraq. The important and interesting point is that they do this not because it was a crime, they criticize it; [no], they say it was not profitable for America! That is, if it had been profitable for America, it would have been fine. They do not say we made a mistake by killing people, we made a mistake by attacking innocent people, we made a mistake by breaking down the doors of people's homes, dragging women and children in front of everyone into blood; they do not say this.
[Now] their soldiers are suffering from psychological problems due to the atrocities committed there, but they do not officially admit it; they say this action was not profitable. Therefore, both in the area of sanctions and in the area of military threats, the enemy's hand is empty: "And do not weaken and do not grieve, for you are the uppermost if you are believers"; if we [are believers], the enemy cannot do anything in the real field. Well, now that they cannot do anything in the real field and their hand is empty of influence, what is the remedy of the enemy? The remedy is to disrupt the calculation system of the opposing side; to disrupt the calculation system of you and me; they pursue this through propaganda, political work, and various contacts; they know that the Islamic Republic has the ability to achieve its goals; it must not want to; if it "wants", it can; they want to make it so that it does not want. Today, the efforts of the world of arrogance, with America at the forefront, is the same soft war that we have discussed for several years; we have spoken about it; others have also said and written and discussed.
They cannot change our calculations; the calculations of the Islamic Republic have been based on rational logic from the very beginning; based on a rational force. The elements that have shaped these calculations are: first, trust in God and the traditions of creation; second, distrust of the enemy and understanding it. Among the matters of trust in God and the traditions of creation is trust in the people; trust in faith; trust in sincere motivations; trust in the honesty of the people - which Imam Khomeini (may his soul be sanctified) was the embodiment of this trust - belief in self-reliance and that "we can"; reliance on action and avoidance of idleness; trust in divine support; reliance on duty and striving in the way of duty; these are the things that have shaped the collection of rational elements of the Islamic system from the very beginning until today - which was the foundation and basis of its movement - refer to the statements of the Imam; the sayings of the Imam are filled with these teachings and meanings; benefiting from experiences, the experience of the behavior of arrogant powers with subjugated nations; striving for independence, remaining independent, living independently. What does independence mean - now some question the very concept of independence - independence means freedom from the will of foreigners and the will of others; this is the meaning of independence; can any rational mind deny this? The meaning of independence is that a nation determines its own destiny. This country was not independent for many years; there was apparent political independence, but the brain of this system and this country was in the hands of others; they were the ones who made decisions; they were the ones who worked; there were individuals inside, some were attached to them, some were not so attached, but were forced and compelled to follow them. Independence means standing against such a situation.
Well, the opposition of arrogance is against this rationality. If someone thinks that the name of Islam causes them to oppose the Islamic Republic, no, the name of Islam and the Islamic appearances and Islamic ceremonies do not compel anyone to oppose. Imam once said in one of his speeches: when the British entered Iraq in the second decade of the twentieth century - in the early nineteen hundreds - and took control, then that British military commander saw someone shouting loudly, making a sound, and became flustered - someone was calling the adhan from a minaret - he asked what this noise was. They said he is calling the adhan. He said, is it against us? Someone said no; he said, well, let him say whatever he wants. An adhan that is not against him, a "Allahu Akbar" that does not belittle him, well, let him say whatever he wants. The issue is not the name of Islam and Islamic ceremonies. Today, there are countries that have the name of Islam, they have some Islamic ceremonies, but their oil is in the hands of the arrogant, their resources are in the hands of the arrogant, their vital resources are in the hands of them; there is no opposition to them, they are very friendly.
A good statement I recently read somewhere; one of the American government experts said: reconciliation between Iran and America is possible, but reconciliation between the Islamic Republic and America is not possible; he has made a correct statement. An Iran that is led by the Pahlavi dynasty - which gives everything to them - certainly reconciliation with this is not only possible but necessary; it is even more than reconciliation. The issue is the Islamic Republic; the Islamic Republic means independence, freedom, adherence to Islamic faith, moving in the path of Islam, not submitting to the impositions of enemies, inviting the Islamic nation to unity - exactly the opposite of what they want - of course, they are against this. Well, this was our main point: do not forget self-reliance; do not forget faith; do not forget action; do not succumb to laziness, negligence, boredom, and disinterest; these are the lessons of the month of Ramadan.
I would like to offer a few recommendations: one recommendation is addressed to all officials. Looking at the political situation of the world and the region shows that we are at a sensitive juncture; in the true sense of the word, today is a historical turning point. Know this! If you are not strong, you will be oppressed; not just by America and the West, but even by a creature like Saddam. If you are not strong, they will impose their will on you. You must become strong. What are the elements of strength? How can it be understood and accepted that we are strong? Spirit, hope, work and effort, recognizing economic vulnerabilities, cultural vulnerabilities, security vulnerabilities - recognize these and close these vulnerabilities - synergy of responsible apparatuses - they should help each other - synergy of responsible apparatuses with the people; these are the elements of strength. This is one recommendation that is addressed to everyone.
The second recommendation is to work as much as you can and while there is opportunity; opportunities are limited. We are individuals facing decline, we have a limited opportunity, as much as we can, while we are here, we should work. Do not say they do not let us; this "they do not let us" is not an acceptable statement. Many have said this, they said it before, and now some still say they do not let us; what does "they do not let us" mean? Whether in the parliament, in the government, in the judiciary, in the armed forces, or in various sectors related to the government, you have capabilities, you have resources at your disposal, use these resources; work as much as you can; do not let a moment pass idly.
The third recommendation is to organize the movement based on the principles of the revolution; avoid marginalization, focus on solving the problems of the people. Fourthly, consider inter-sectoral and inter-branch cooperation important. I repeatedly recommend to the respected officials of the three branches to hold their meetings regularly; many issues are resolved in these joint meetings: meetings of the government and parliament, meetings of the judiciary and government, meetings of the judiciary and parliament; these meetings, these exchanges of views, this utilization of each other's opinions leads to synergy. And the issue of jihad management; this recommendation is for everyone.
A recommendation specifically for the government and the executive branch: first, let everyone know, I support the government. I will use all the power at my disposal to help the government; I endorse the government, I support it, just like all previous governments. Regarding the high-ranking officials of the government - those I know - I have confidence. All the governments that have come to power after the revolution are elected by the people, and I have supported all these governments during all these periods - when I had responsibility. All governments have positive points, [and] negative points; there is no government that can say all its points are positive or anyone can say all its points are negative; no, positive and negative are mixed. Of course, regarding past governments, it is better that criticism is done in a specialized manner; public criticism in public forums is not very advisable; regarding the current government, criticism should be fair, respectful, and compassionate; it should not be in the sense of catching someone out, in the sense of causing harm; this is the first point. Secondly, I tell the officials of the government: take resistant economy seriously. Well, the respected President has said this, other officials have also expressed it to some extent, but it must be acted upon: "And do not be among those who rely on something other than action"; it should not be that we say it verbally, but in practice we move slowly. In resistant economy, reliance is on domestic production, on strengthening the internal economic foundation. Economic prosperity is achieved through production, by activating the internal capacities of the country, not by anything else.
An important recommendation in the realm of resistant economy is one recommendation to the banks: banks must play a role, they must adapt themselves to the materials of the resistant economy policies and the government's planning in this regard; and they can play a positive role; of course, they can also play a negative role. A strong recommendation to the industrial and mining sector: they must increase their activity. The main burden of getting the country out of economic stagnation and backwardness rests on the shoulders of the industrial and mining sector; they must strive, they must double their efforts, they must identify the capacities; there are many capacities in the country, they must activate these capacities. Regarding the agricultural sector; agriculture has vital importance. It is necessary for the government's view and government policies towards the agricultural sector to be supportive; this is the case everywhere in the world; the agricultural sector is supported by governments. Then, the existing problems in the agricultural sector must be resolved; the problems of farmers, the problems of livestock breeders - who sometimes also complain to us - and one suffers from some of the problems that exist for them.
Third: the slogan of the government is moderation; moderation is a very good slogan, we also endorse moderation; extremism is condemned and bad. My recommendation is to be careful that the believing currents are not sidelined by the slogan of moderation; some are doing these things, I see it in the political scene of the country; with the slogan of moderation, with the slogan of avoiding extremism, they try to sideline the believing current, which is the current that is the first to shield itself against dangers, that is the current that supports governments in real problems in the true sense of the word; be careful. Islam is the embodiment of moderation. This "harsh against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves" is moderation; "kill those who are nearest to you among the disbelievers" is moderation; enjoining good and forbidding wrong is moderation - this is moderation after all - the meaning of moderation is not that we prevent the actions of the believing individual, the believing current, the believing collective that performs their duty.
A recommendation to political and media currents; I have one recommendation for the brothers and officials of political and media currents. Be careful; a contentious atmosphere in the country is not in favor of the country. Some walk on the nerves of the people so much - as one observes - the mental and intellectual security of the people is important; do not increase the atmosphere of conflict and disagreement, do not intensify it. Do not repeatedly echo the words of the enemies. I read a lot of newspapers every day - like many other things I read a lot - sometimes there are statements, there are headlines in newspapers that belong to a certain American newspaper; incidentally, sometimes in those American and non-American newspapers, they also come to us; be careful; this is not right.
A currently sensitive issue is the nuclear issue, and the statements of the respected President today were completely good and correct. The opposing side has taken the approach of death so that you accept fever. Their goal is to make the Islamic Republic agree to, for example, ten thousand SWUs - which is one of the issues - but they have started from five hundred SWUs and one thousand SWUs, which is about ten thousand SWUs, for example, the product of about ten thousand centrifuges - the old ones we had and have. This is their goal. Our officials say we need 190,000 SWUs. This need may not be for this year, or two years later, or five years later, but this is a definite need of the country, well, the country's need must be met. The main point that the Americans have in this matter is an unjust statement. A country needs nuclear energy, it has been able to provide this knowledge, this technology for itself through its own efforts, without stealing from anyone, without colluding with anyone; now they stand up and say no, you should not. Well, why? What logic does this "should not" have? They say we are afraid of nuclear bombs! First, guarantees for preventing nuclear weapons have their own ways; it is not a problem. Secondly, if someone is to be concerned about nuclear weapons, it is not America. America has several thousand nuclear warheads, several thousand nuclear bombs, and has used them; well, who are you to be concerned about whether a certain country acquires nuclear weapons or not; moreover, the responsible agencies, well yes, guarantees can be provided. [Of course] guarantees have been provided, meaning it is clear; perhaps they themselves know this. The main point they have is an unjust statement.
Of course, we trust our negotiating team. We are confident that they will not agree to encroach upon the rights of the country and the rights of the nation and the dignity of the nation. The issue of enrichment capacity is one issue that is very important; the issue of research and development must certainly be observed; maintaining an organization that the enemy cannot destroy. They focus on "Fordow" because it is inaccessible to them; they say that a place we cannot strike should not be in your possession! Is this not ridiculous?
The last issue is both the regional issue and the issue of Iraq, which is in fact a sedition, and God willing, with divine assistance, the believing people of Iraq will be able to extinguish this sedition and eliminate it. And God willing, the nations of the region will continue to grow and elevate materially and spiritually.
O Lord! We ask You by Muhammad and the family of Muhammad to make what we have said and heard for Yourself and in Your way; accept it from us. O Lord! Grant us success in striving, effort, and sincere work. O Lord! By Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, provide us with the means and causes of Your satisfaction with us; do not deprive us of Your mercy and forgiveness in this blessed month; unite the pure souls of the martyrs, the pure spirit of Imam Khomeini (may his soul be sanctified) with Your saints. O Lord! By Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, make us among Your grateful and patient servants.
