Statements at the Polling Place of the Second Round of Council Elections in Konarak, Sistan and Baluchestan
I cannot legally vote in Konarak because I am here to participate in the elections, and I deemed it necessary to be present at this polling place.
These elections, like all elections, including the elections for city and village councils, are important because they involve the presence and choice of the people.
This public commitment, which thanks be to God has existed in past elections, should continue, and all people should feel a duty to participate in the elections and show up.
What I always recommend to the people in these elections and other elections is to strive to choose in the true sense of the word.
Recognize those whom you trust and those who you know will properly fulfill the duties of this representation, and appoint them with your votes to the positions created by these elections.
Councils are obliged to organize the affairs of cities and villages; recognize those who have this capability, those who possess this trust, and those who have the motivation in the true sense of the word to carry out this work.
My belief is that if elections are conducted properly, the condition of cities and villages will improve from what it is today. In the previous term, in some cities, the people had good representatives, while in some cities, unfortunately, they could not find worthy representatives, which is why the work did not reach fruition.
Councils have not done what the people expected of them in some cities.
Now I have been informed that in some places there have been shortcomings in determining qualifications. I will investigate to see if inappropriate individuals have entered contrary to regulations; if so, the elections there will not be credible.
