Statements in an Interview with the IRIB Reporter After Participating in the Elections
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. First of all, Election Day is a day of national celebration; I congratulate this celebration to all our dear compatriots across the country. Secondly, it is a day for the realization of the civil rights of the nation, who want to vote and take their participation in the administration of the country's affairs — which is their right — into their own hands. Thirdly, it is a religious duty that we have previously mentioned. The truth is that elections are essential for the national interests of the country. Anyone who cares about the national interests of the country participates in the elections.
My recommendation is that everyone should move with determination and come to vote for the individuals they have chosen — whom they have reached — and do this as soon as possible; this is our constant advice; that is, do not wait until the end of the night and the last moment; they should come to vote at the very beginning of the day — the first half of the day — so that the crowd does not accumulate at the end of the day. And then, in each city, they should vote for the number of candidates in that city; for example, in Tehran, they should really vote for thirty people; they should write down the names of thirty people; this greatly helps to ensure that, God willing, the parliament will be a strong parliament.
We ask the Almighty God to grant the Iranian nation success, goodness; and may His mercy and blessings descend upon this nation, and may this election also be a source of goodness and blessings for this country.
We also thank you, media friends, for your efforts and for the efforts you will continue to make.
Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings.
