Message on the Martyrdom of Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Abbas Mousavi, Secretary-General of Hezbollah Lebanon

In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with God; of them some have completed their vow, and some still wait, but they have never changed in the least (Surah Al-Ahzab, 33:23).

With great sorrow and regret, I received the news of the martyrdom of the oppressed, tireless, and devoted leader of Hezbollah Lebanon, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Abbas Mousavi, along with his wife and young child, at the hands of the criminal Zionist regime.

May God's mercy be upon this noble, courageous, sincere, and intelligent Sayyid; and may God's curse and the people's curse be upon the savage and bloodthirsty Zionists who do not shy away from any crime in pursuit of their vile and aggressive goals; and upon their wicked and arrogant supporters who, by turning a blind eye to the great crimes of that regime and aiding its continuation, reveal their inhumane and malicious nature more than ever and do not refrain from any conspiracy or betrayal against the truth-seeking Muslims.

The unjustly shed blood of this dear and great martyr and his oppressed companions will make the righteous struggle of the people of Lebanon and Palestine against the Zionist occupiers more serious and profound. This noble Sayyid, who combined knowledge with action, words with truthfulness, and sacrifice with wisdom, achieved martyrdom in the path of his divine and sacred goal - which was the defense of Islam and the confrontation with oppression and aggression - and attained eternal happiness. His path will be continued by his comrades, the Muslim and oppressed people of Lebanon and Palestine.

Israel and America should know that such crimes will not pave the way for their oppressive domination, nor will they intimidate the nations that have suffered from their oppression and wickedness for many years.

I extend my congratulations and condolences on this honorable martyrdom - which is God's reward for the continuous jihad of that sincere and devoted person - to the people of Lebanon, the pure and dear youth of Hezbollah, and its leaders, especially to the family, friends, and admirers of that great martyr, and I pray for God's mercy and grace for him.
