Statements at the Police Sciences University
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I congratulate the dear graduates of this university who are now ready to enter the field of action and fulfill their duties, and also to the dear young people receiving their epaulettes today who have prepared themselves for entering the realm of knowledge and science and for undertaking great responsibilities and tasks. This ceremony, blessed by your presence, dear youth, and by being in this scientific arena, is one of our sweetest and most desirable ceremonies.
The activities that have taken place - the very good maneuver in this field - and the discipline of the forces are commendable. This movement and discipline in carrying out conventional tasks can be a sign of the existence of mental and spiritual order, which is the main factor in correct action and the straight path; and we hope it remains so.
What I want to convey to you, our dear youth, today is the importance of the police force; the significance of the work you have dedicated yourselves to. The importance of the police force must be understood in the context of the importance of social security. As much as security is important for a nation and a country, equal importance must be given to the guardians of security - of which the police force is a prominent manifestation. Your work is significant. Security in a country - whether social and civil security, or psychological and moral security - is one of the main foundations and pillars of progress, stability, and the dignity of the country. The worst calamity that can befall a growing and advancing nation is the deprivation of security. When security is absent, orderly thought and, consequently, orderly action will also be absent, and progress will not be possible. In addition to this, security is a fundamental need for human beings. "He who fed them from hunger and secured them from fear"; (1) as two great divine blessings, the Almighty God highlights this to the audience of this noble verse: salvation from hunger and salvation from insecurity. These illustrate the importance of security.
Moreover, in the confrontation with the evil force of global arrogance - which today poses a great danger to independent nations - one of the things they meticulously pursue is the creation of insecurity; whether social insecurity, or moral, spiritual, and psychological insecurity. It has been proven that the promotion of drugs follows behind-the-scenes designs that the policymakers of arrogance implement against their despised countries. The same issue exists in the promotion of immorality, in weakening faith, and in undermining the moral foundations of a society. All of these increase the importance of safeguarding security. You have taken on this great responsibility, and you are entering this field; appreciate it.
Today, those who, in the form of the police force, strive to provide peace, security, and peace of mind for the citizens of our country are, in the true sense of the word, warriors in the path of God; this is very valuable. The essence of this important position and this great title is that you must do everything you can to keep the work free from any harm that may enter it or affect it. Our constant emphasis in addressing the police force has been and remains this.
The police force is both a manifestation of the authority of the system and the order that seeks to maintain and secure the country's security and safeguard it, and a manifestation of kindness, compassion, and the spirit of mercy and compassion of the system towards all people. These two must be considered together and in conjunction with each other. In the training sessions, in the various courses established for the training of different sections, this must be taught to all members of the police force, so that it becomes part of the definitive culture of the police force.
You want to be the supporters of the comfort and peace of mind of the people. The people must feel both your power and authority, and your kindness, compassion, trustworthiness, and love towards them. You young people have the potential for great work. Today, our police force is far removed from its past, from what it was in previous decades, and has made significant progress. More advancements lie ahead of you. Open fields are before you. With knowledge, experience, research, contemplation, and by utilizing all the talents and resources that God has placed within you, you can conquer these fields.
Esteemed professors, respected commanders, each and every staff member, and you students and graduates, all are addressed by this speech. God willing, may God grant you success. The dignity of dear Iran, Islamic Iran, and progressive Iran depends on the strong will and firm determination of our youth and elites; which today, thanks be to God, is evident throughout the country, and the world is witnessing this, and day by day, God willing, it will get better.
I pray to the Almighty God for His blessings for you, for the answered prayers of the Awaited Savior (may our souls be sacrificed for him), and for the satisfaction of the pure spirit of Imam and the martyrs from all of you.
Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings
